West Kent Area
About
The West Kent IMPS area is located in the middle of the Kent countryside and extends from IMPS East Kent area across to the East Sussex IMPS area border and up to Weald and North Kent IMPS area boundaries.
Our monthly meetings are held at The George PH in Leeds on the second Wednesday starting at 7.30pm. The area has been in existence for three years and we have 20 to 30 members attending each month. Guest speakers on related subjects are arranged throughout the year. We have an ‘area weekend rally’, local road runs and always field a good team of historic restored Military Vehicles for the annual shows and rallies. Our members help in raising funds for charities IMPS support such as Combat Stress, Hill 112 Memorial Foundation and the RBL ‘Poppy Appeal’.
In 2024 we are attending the Normandy 80th D Day Anniversary and the annual Pas de Calais (Haillicourt / Somme) France Remembrance Parades. We look forward to welcoming you to our meetings and run outs.
Safe motoring.

My interest in Military Vehicles began back in 1979 after meeting with Allan Ede, James Baxter and Tony Lawrence and the trips in Tony & Jim’s WW11 Jeeps to the Duxford & Thruxton shows before IMPS started.
It was a few years later that I joined IMPS and purchased my 1944 Willys MB Jeep. I attended the early War & Peace shows at Tenterden and later at the Hop Farm where I spent 15 days every year until 2018 helping set up the IMPS W&P shows. Became an area secretary back in 2000 representing the Weald area for 20 years – Became a board member in early 2000 holding Vice Chairman and Chairman’s positions until 2020. Have met a great group of like minded people enjoying Military Vehicle restoration and supporting military charities. Recently moved home and started the new IMPS West Kent Area. The highlight of the M/V calendar for me is the annual IMPS Pas de Calais France liberation trips to the Somme – Bethune, Souchez & now Haillicourt –
‘We Will Remember Them”.
