Surrey Area

About

The Surrey Area meets at the Portcullis Club at Kenley Airfield for its monthly meetings We generally meet on the first Tuesday of each month where 20-25 members meet and whenever possible, club members and guest speakers give talks on various military related topics. During the winter months we arrange trips out to various venues to keep the Area active during the quiet months, visits have included HMS Belfast, the History-On-Wheels museum and the Wings Museum.

Whenever possible we support fund raising activities for worthy causes, which have included annual Poppy selling for the RBL, a 1940’s themed charity dinner dance at Denbies vineyard in Dorking which raised £10,000 for Headley Court and a 1940’s themed charity dinner dance at Redhill Aerodrome to raise money for the Surrey Air Ambulance. The Surrey Area doesn’t run an annual show, but we always attend the Lingfield Steam and Country Fair, where the military section is usually one of the largest. We are always eager to welcome new members to the Area meetings, so if you are in the Surrey area, please try to come along on the first Tuesday to meet us.
