SUMMARY:Faversham in the 40's
DESCRIPTION:2024 was the first time this event was held and it was a huge success. For 2025 it would be nice to have more WWII vehicles\, but this event is open to all military vehicles which will be parked in Court Street near the Shepherd Neame Brewery. \nHeld in the historic heart of Faversham this is a great venue with plenty going on with local businesses getting involved\, reenactors and 40s entertainment. DESCRIPTION:Contact Colin Port: colin.rmp@hotmail.co.uk or 07800675372. The main event is on Sunday 18th May. The military vehicle area is in Stone Street from the Cadet Centre to the War Memorial. In the Military Zone we will have the towns Cadet units\, the Royal British Legion and a display from the Army Careers office. A great venue to show your vehicle off\, no mud or dust. We had a few vehicles year but plenty of room for more.

SUMMARY:The AA Road Run
DESCRIPTION:The AA Military Road Run\nWe will be commemorating the 112th anniversary of the first occasion a body of troops was moved on operations by motor transport with a road run from Sevenoaks to Hastings. In March 1909 the AA and the War Office organised the transport of 6oo Guardsmen from London to Hastings\, carried in motor cars owned by members of the AA.\nThis will also be 12th consecutive year of the AA Commemorative Military Road Run is open to Military Soft skin vehicles and Motor Cycles (sorry no armoured vehicles) in use by British Forces from 1909 to the present day\, as well as Veteran\, Vintage and Classic cars and motor cycles up to 1945.\nTraditionally some 60 vehicles take part\, leaving from at 10am from Sevenoaks Suffolk Way Car Park\, to travel through Tonbridge and Pembury and down the A21\, with a stop at the Chequers Inn in Lamberhurst\, to Hastings.\nThe vehicles will then be on display to the public at the Stade Exhibition area (on the sea front near the Old Town). First arrivals are expected from 11.30\, and will be staying to approximately 15.30\nThe run is being organised in aid of Combat Stress\, who celebrate their 101st anniversary this year\, and is supported by the AA.
