Charity Day to go off with
a BANG!
This year the 'Dave Lee's Write Good Golf
Classic' at Chart Hills Golf Club, Biddenden, Kent on Sunday 9th September
is bound to go off with a BANG! thanks to a member of the Invicta Military-Vehicle
Preservation Society (IMPS). Instead of the usual hooter to start the
celebrity fund raising day at 11 am, a rare Second World War 17 Pounder
Anti-tank Gun is going to be fired. Dave Lee, the event organiser said
" Last year some people complained that they did not hear the start
hooter, so this year we have decided to make sure there is no mistake
and go for a more explosive start!".
Every penny raised on the day will to go to 'Dave Lee's Happy Holidays'
a charity founded in 1994 with the aim of providing holidays for disabled,
sick and underprivileged children of Kent and their immediate families.
Over the past 7 years a staggering £799,448 has been raised and
used to the benefit of 11,014 local people!.
Recognised as one of the best amateur golfing events in the South East
of England the day attracts a host stars from both radio and TV. Those
pledging their support on the day include amongst others Dave Lee, Brian
Conley, Joe Pasquale, Richard Digence, Freddie Davies, Michael Grecco
(alias Pepe from Eastenders), Bradley Walsh, Gareth Hale, Mark Falco and
many more.
A highlight of the day will be a display of rare historic military vehicles
provided by members of IMPS . Andrew Tizzard IMPS Publicity Officer said
"As a Kent based society we were honoured to be invited to support
a local charity that does so much to help the people of Kent".
Other attractions will include a Huge Tombola, Clowns, Licensed Bar, Food
Stalls to name but a few.
