1. PERSONAL DISCIPLINE
The IMPS is represented by its members and members are deemed to be responsible for the behaviour of their invited guests. Whether driving, being carried as a passenger or performing safety- oriented duties as outlined below standards of deportment and politeness must be maintained so that the IMPS is presented to the public as a caring responsible organisation

2. VEHICLES CONDITION
It is the duty of all members to ensure that their vehicles are maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition at all times

3. VEHICLE MOVEMENT GERNERALLY
Vehicles should move through a showground only in accordance with the wishes of the organisers. Headlamps should be illuminated and horn or siren warnings considered.

4. TRACKED VEHICLE MOVEMENT
Tracked vehicles should not move through crowds unless absolutely necessary. In which case a responsible adult should walk in front of the vehicle in a high vis jacket to warn members of the public.

5. VEHICLES SPEED
Vehicles should be driven at a responsible speed at all times, giving full regard to the number of people present at the event.

6. DRIVER QUALIFICATION
i) any vehicles being driven as (3) (4) and (5) above should be controlled by the holder of a current full driving licence for that class of vehicles who is driving with the full permission of the owner and, above all, who is familiar with that particular vehicle.
ii) Outside public opening times a properly supervised provisional licence holder is permitted to drive provided that the vehicle is displaying “L” plates and there is no risk or danger whatsoever to other persons present at the event
iii) At no time should a child or a non-licence holder be in charge or control of a vehicle as this could invalidate any insurance policy. This includes vehicle left with ignition keys in place or with the engine or machinery in motion.

7. VEHICLE INSURANCE
Owners must ensure that their vehicles are covered for ‘off-road’ use and that all drivers are similarly covered. It is the responsibility of the driver to confirm insurance cover with the owner before taking charge of a vehicle. Normal road insurance does not apply at ‘off-road’ events.

8. RESTICTED DRIVERS VISION
If any vehicle has restricted vision, a responsible adult must act as vehicle commander. He must be in voice contact with the driver. It is the commander’s responsibility to ensure passenger safety , especially when persons are mounting or dismounting from the vehicle, which should be done other that by, using the tracks or wheels as footrests.

9. PROJECTIONS FROM VEHICLES
Drivers must ensure that any projections outside the normal overall width, length and height of their vehicles such as whip aerials or ring-mounted replica machine guns, are properly secured before moving off, especially when moving through crowds.

10. PASSENGERS
No passenger vehicle must carry more passengers than the number of seats on that vehicle. They must be correctly seated and children properly supervised. On fully armoured, tracked vehicles, no passengers or crew must be carried on the exterior of the vehicle.
On amphibious vehicles, all crew and passengers must be equipped with flotation devices or life – jackets when water- borne.

11. FIREARMS AND EXPLOSIVES
There must be absolutely no discharge of any firearm, barrelled weapon, thunderflash or other explosive device at any event without prior reference to the organisers, except in the arena when a display is taking place and the organisers are aware the display is taking place. Replica and deactivated guns must not be carried around the showground unless it has been agreed with the organisers in advance, ie display group.

12. OFFENSIVE WEAPONS
Bayonets and knives must not be carried or worn when moving around the showground. They may be unsheathed only as part of static display and equipment and must never be left unattended.

13. UNIFORMS
Uniforms must not be worn outside the showground. Care must be taken to avoid unit and rank badges and especially medial ribbons to which the wearer is not entitled, as this constitutes an offence. Uniforms should be worn correctly and in context, (i.e no long hair and ear rings)

14. NOISE
No excessive noise should be made or generators used on a show site or camping site between the hours of 11.00 pm and 06.30 am.

15. FIRE PRECAUTIONS
All members will carry a suitable, modern type fire extinguisher on their vehicles. All stallholder at IMPS events will have an extinguisher available within their stall space. Serious infringement of this Code of Conduct at a show will be dealt with by any committee member present at the time of the offence and subsequently will be reported to the IMPS Safety Officer for Further action if considered necessary.

16. QUAD BIKES
Quad bikes are NOT permitted at IMPS events unless special permission has been given for there use
By the orgainers of the event and they are driven by a person who has a full vehicle driving licence.

17. B.B GUNS
These guns are not permitted at IMPS events unless part of a static display and again they are NOT allowed to be fired in any situation.

18. OVERSEAS EVENTS
The IMPS code of conduct also applies to all overseas events that IMPS members attend.
