| Saturday 31/3/2012 | TIGER DAY At The Tank Museum, Bovington 2012 marks the 70th Anniversary of the Tiger tank; one of the most feared and revered machines in the history of warfare. The highlight of the day will see Tiger 131 make its return into the arena to take part in a 30 minute display which will examine and compare this World War Two beast to its Axis and Allied contemporaries; including Matilda II, Panzer III, T-34 and Sherman. The display will also examine the impact Tiger had on future tank design, with Centurion and Leopard.

| Sunday 1/4/2012 | AA Commemorative Road Run – Sevenoaks to Hastings IMPS EVENT For the fourth year IMPS are organising a road run from Sevenoaks to Hastings, sponsored by the AA, and in support of Combat Stress. The event commemorates the first time that a body of troops was transported by motor vehicle, when members of the AA carried a composite Battalion of 600 Guardsmen, in their private cars, from London to Hastings of the 17th March 1909. The event is open to military soft-skinned vehicles and motor cycles, (SORRY NO ARMOUR), in use by British Forces from 1909 to the present day – so includes vehicles of US, Canada, and other nations manufacture which have been supplied to British forces – and veteran and vintage cars up to 1945. | Sunday 27/5/2012 | Oakley Aerodrome 70th Anniversary Field Farm, Worminghall, Bucks. HP18 9JY. Opened as part of 92 Group (Operational Training Units) and was a satellite field for the Blenheims of 13 OTU at Bicester. In August 1942 it became a satellite to 11 OTU at Westcott, training aircrew on Wellington bombers which continued until the RAF station closed in 1945. After VE day Oakley was one of the bases used for Operation Exodus, and some 15,000 POWs were repatriated there. There will be a short service held in the hanger during the afternoon, and we hope to arrange a fly past depending on the RAF’s commitments on the day.

Without doubt it is going to be the event of 2012 as it will be the first time ever that such a number of original WWII tanks will have been assembled in Dorset since the end of the war – up to twenty tanks and over fifty WWII vehicles. They will be driving into Dorchester town exactly as they did on the build up of D-Day. Dorset was one of the major marshalling areas and embarkation counties. Dorset played a major part in the build up, the execution of D-Day and the liberation Nazi occupied Europe.

| Saturday 15/9/2012 - Sunday 16/9/2012 | Salute to the Forties The Historic Dockyard, Chatham, Kent. One of the most atmospheric WW2 events around. Set in the heart of a preserved Naval Dockyard this event has the lot! Real warships, convoys, steam railway, concerts, encampments, troop embarkations, fire fighting, air raids, street scenes and much more give the dockyard a film-set appearance. All pre-registered participants get free entry to all Historic Dockyard attractions and camping from Friday through to first thing Monday. All allied WW2 vehicles and re-enactors welcome

Doors open to trade at 08.30 am and to the general public at 09.00 am until 13:00. Admission cost is £2.00. IMPS Members admitted free on production of valid membership card.
