| 0/0/0 - Saturday 11/7/2009 | the 70th Anniversary of Wattisham Airfield.
Held at Wattisham Airfield in Suffolk and covers both UK and American Forces during WW2, the RAF from the end of WW2 till 1993 and the Army Air Corps to present; although I aim to have a timeline of Suffolk Military throughout the ages. The event is for forces charities and the Veterans who have served on the station during the last seven decades, some of whom are travelling from the far reaches of the globe to attend possibly their last event; and to that end we would be very grateful to anyone who wished to participate, although as I stated it is not open to the public as such, there are no on the gate tickets or concessions. I would ask that all interested parties get in contact with me asap so that I can sort out security, site plans, etc (this is still a working base, and is home to the UK Apache Gunship Helicopter and as such is classed as high risk). Please contact Sgt Stuart Hill, 4 Regiment Army Air Corps, Wattisham Station

| Saturday 29/8/2009 - Monday 31/8/2009 | The Kemble Military Show 2009
Stand to attention! There will be a large army gathering at Kemble airfield, near Cirencester on Saturday 29th, Sunday 30th and Monday 31st August 2009. It will be a major military coup – of the successful kind. Kemble Military Show is one of the largest in the UK and the newly scheduled Bank Holiday show will be packed with exhibits and special events for the whole family – all with a military theme. So why not come and join in the fun? To mark the 65th anniversary of the D-Day landings, breathtaking tank demonstrations will be taking place in the live arena together with authentically loud and dramatic re-enactments of battles. If that is not enough excitement for one day, look up and you will see the ever-popular display of historic military aircraft. On the ground, more than 800 military and classic vehicles will be displayed – armoured vehicles, Jeeps, classic cars and motorcycles. Members of the Military Vehicle Trust (MVT), which will celebrate over 40 years of the trust at the Kemble Military Show 2009, own many of these vehicles. If a slower pace of life sounds more favourable, the living history displays, huge militaria market and trade stands will have you engrossed for hours. What’s more, a First World War field kitchen in operation along with demonstrations of wartime cooking will give a real feel for what wartime living was like. There will also be 1930s dancing in period costumes by Gloster Jive and Swing – whose founders, Gary and Sara Boon are the UKs Lindy Hop champions. Many army regiments and wartime veterans will be at the Kemble Military Show 2009 together with fantastic performances by several military bands. John Keedwell, director of the Kemble Military Show, says: Each year, we attract more military vehicles, including some of the rarest in the world. With the many other attractions for the whole family to enjoy, Kemble is definitely the best military show in the south-west. Admission Prices: Adults: £7 per day; Concessions: £4 per day; Children (5-16): £3 per day; Under 5s FREE Gates open: Saturday –Monday 9.30am

On behalf of Farnborough Round Table I would very much like to invite IMPS to the 2009 Farnborough (Kent) Round fair The location of the fair is the field behind St Giles church in Church Road Farnborough Village, Orpington. The times of the fair will be 13:00pm – 17:00pm approx. The fair has been held annually for the last 600 odd years. Farnborough Round Table organizes the fair to which all proceeds are donated to local charities. Average yearly attendance is 3000+ people (weather permitting) throughout the afternoon. Plans for the 2009 fair are in their early stages. Attendees to the fair in recent years have included the “dancing Digger Display Team”, Heart 106.2 Ground Patrol, London Fire Brigade, Territorial Army and the Metropolitan Police which included last year the landing of the Police Helicopter “India 99”.
