Thames Traditional Boat Festival, Henley on Thames Resulting from the IMPS Dunkirk Anniversary tour the organisers of this regular event for boat owners and classic car enthusiasts have invited owners of Military Vehicles dating from 1940 to the 70s to join them, particularly to compliment the Dunkirk Little Ships that will be attending. Unfortunately tracked vehicles cannot be accepted due to the nature of the ground. Entry to exhibiting vehicle, driver and crew is free as is the camping. MVs have a special display area close to the Dunkirk Little Ships. MV owners will be made very welcome. Bring your kit along to display with your vehicle. This is a different, and prestigious, event from the from usual MV show, and should be very enjoyable. Fill in the form online and Lyndon York will be in contact with you. Lyndon York

Meath Epilepsy Charity Vintage Weekend Weald Classic Cars We are putting on a display of 50 classic vehicles at a prestigious charity event to mark the 125th anniversary of the Meath Epilepsy Trust. The event is being held in the magnificent grounds of Westbrook Place in Godalming, Surrey on Saturday 22nd July 2017 and will be a vintage fair including our classic vehicle show. We are expecting it to be a very enjoyable event for members of the public and exhibitors alike. We are hoping to be able to mount a time-line of vehicles from the 1920s through to the 1990s. I am thinking that some appropriate examples of WW2 vehicles would be representative of motoring in the 1940s. If any members would be interested in supporting us by bringing their vehicles along, we would be glad to hear from them. I would add that we are thinking in terms of light vehicles such as Jeeps , Tillies etc rather than armoured vehicles or the heavier trucks. We do need to get vehicles booked in advance so that we can manage the space. The last thing we want is for an exhibitor to be turned away at the gate because the space is already full! There is an application form on our website, or contact Gordon Davies, (01444 456781) / (Mob : 07923 994409), Fred Bone (01444 239853) or Wilmore (07973 114652) for further details email : gordonreecedavies@gmail.com Weald Classic Vehicle club meets at the Weald Pub in Burgess Hill from 7.30pm on the second Tuesday of each month. We would be glad to welcome any IMPS members as visitors or to join the club if they wish. Membership is just £12 annually so it's very affordable. (More details on our website)

Esendon Supafete Esendon Supafete is a charity event run for organisations in the village as well as local and National charities. Everything we raise goes to these institutions, no admin or other costs are taken out so it is purely for their good. Essendon is located on the B158, off the A414 between Hatfield and Hertford so is very well connected. We get a Fire Engine in most years so access to the site is good. The Postcode is AL9 6HA. The event is in it's 61st year and last year, we managed to get parachutists to celebrate our 60th anniversary so this year, we wanted something impressive with a military theme. The Supafete takes place every year, rain or and we anticipate between 3 - 5000 visitors. It runs from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm ending often with a Tug O War. All IMPS members would be welcome to join in and in particular we would love to have a tank present so if anyone can help please contact Colin Rees by email.

Vintage Summer Fair The Chilham Remembrance Group are a small association of local people, involved with researching and commemorating the men who did not return to the Parish from the two world wars. We lost 40 men in WW1 and are in the process of putting plaques on the wall of each man's last home. We are holding a Vintage Fair on the village green in Old Wives Lees to launch phase 2 of the project, which will focus on those lost in WW2. The IMPS association started in Chilham, and they would like to invite some IMPS members to attend the event. We will be having a fancy dress competition, and I'm hoping it will evoke the same feelings of joy and family fun of past village fairs. IMPS NORMANDY TOUR 2019 75th Anniversary of Operation Overlord. Planning is well underway for the IMPS 2019 tour of Normandy. Our campsite is already booked and several guided tours around the region have already been organised with experienced experts. We are linking up with local groups and the MVT to participate in the commemorations, including parades in Port en Bessin and Bayeux. We will be travelling to/from France via Portsmouth/Caen. The outward crossings will be either the overnight ferry leaving Sunday 2nd June or the daytime crossing on Monday 3rd June. The return crossings will be on Monday 10th June 2019. The duration of the trip will be 7 nights. We will be “occupying” a campsite which is located mid-way along the landing beaches. This makes it easy to visit all the sites relevant to Operation Overlord and the breakout. It provides a very high standard of facilities, with both camping and on site cabins available, it has an on-site swimming pool, excellent showers, a bar/cafe area and great access for the larger vehicles. We now need YOU to make a commitment to the tour by filling in the form. As in previous years we will ask for stage payments between now and the tour, this should help to spread your outgoings in proportion to the clubs outgoings, so it helps everybody! Please give as much information as you can at this stage, but we understand that there may be some changes necessary over the intervening time, you will be asked for more detailed information nearer the time. Please include your email address so we can save on postage and get the very latest information to you as it happens. If you change your email address please make sure you update us. We will not intentionally divulge this information to any third party. But we may send you links to museums etc. The tour is being arranged by IMPS so the entrant needs to be a current IMPS member, and still be a member at the time of the tour. Space is limited so entries will be strictly on a first come first served basis. If all the spaces are filled, you will be placed, in order, on a reserve list. Form available in the February newsletter or you can obtain one by emailing James Gosling. Email James Gosling for an entry form or see February's newsletter
