Due to the increased popularity of the Overlord Show, Overlord 2009, the Souths premier military vehicle show has once again been extended to 4 days, commencing on the Friday and covering the complete late May Bank Holiday weekend. The event run by the Solent Overlord Executive (S.O.E) will be held at its regular site at Horndean, just to the north of Portsmouth. This years show is planned to be even bigger and better with many 100s of military vehicles and re-enactors, a full programme of arena events and a large militaria market combine to make this the event not to be missed. Popular for its friendly and relaxed atmosphere, exhibitors also benefit from free entry, camping, showers and evening entertainment, also the location makes it the perfect stop over prior to embarkation to Normandy. Due to the date of the Bank Holiday falling early in 2009 additional secure parking can be provided for exhibitors intending to travel to France the following weekend.

Every available space of the Hop Farms 250 acres was utilised, showcasing over 4000 military vehicles. The arena action was magnificent with displays involving tanks, armoured vehicles and lots of gunfire Last years superb living history displays covered 30 acres and gave the public a rare opportunity to gain an insight into the life at times of combat. On behalf of Farnborough Round Table I would very much like to invite IMPS to the 2009 Farnborough (Kent) Round fair The location of the fair is the field behind St Giles church in Church Road Farnborough Village, Orpington. The times of the fair will be 13:00pm 17:00pm approx. The fair has been held annually for the last 600 odd years. Farnborough Round Table organizes the fair to which all proceeds are donated to local charities. Average yearly attendance is 3000+ people (weather permitting) throughout the afternoon. Plans for the 2009 fair are in their early stages. Attendees to the fair in recent years have included the dancing Digger Display Team, Heart 106.2 Ground Patrol, London Fire Brigade, Territorial Army and the Metropolitan Police which included last year the landing of the Police Helicopter India 99. There will also be various arena events taking place through out the afternoon as well. We have plenty of space. So all size of vehicles and displays are most welcome. I leave it to your members what they would like to do. But attendance would be most appreciated. If your society would like to attend, please could you confirm at your earliest convenience?
